About Wards
Introduction
Hi there, I’m Caleb Ward, and I’m truly glad you’ve found your way here.
For the past 35 years, I’ve devoted myself to the craft of working with leather — designing and hand-finishing bags, wallets, and everyday essentials with care, precision, and a deep respect for materials that last.
What began as a quiet pursuit in a small workshop has grown into something far more meaningful: a way to create honest, long-lasting pieces for people who value quality, utility, and timeless design.
The Journey
It all started in a simple garage with a few tools, a stack of hides, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way — not the fast way. There’s something deeply grounding about working with your hands, feeling each cut, each stitch, and watching a raw material take on a life of its own.
Over the years, I’ve crafted every piece with the same intention: to build something that endures. Not just in form, but in meaning — something that becomes part of your day-to-day, travels with you, and grows better with time.
Why I Love What I Do
For me, working with leather has never just been about making bags.
It’s about creating something useful, lasting, and true.
Every Wards product is the result of countless hours spent choosing the right hide, refining the design, and finishing every edge by hand. There’s a real joy in seeing it all come together — knowing that what started as a piece of raw leather now holds value and purpose in someone else’s life.
Looking Ahead
As I step into retirement, my focus hasn’t changed. I still believe in slow, thoughtful craftsmanship — and this final collection is my way of closing the chapter.
These are the last bags I’ll ever make.
They’re not mass-produced. They’re not rushed.
They are the best of what I’ve learned, made with care and signed with pride.
Thank you for being here. Your support means more than I can express.
And if one of my pieces finds its way into your hands, I hope it serves you as well as the craft has served me.
